We are Lynx Emissions, and have been restoring DPF’s (diesel particulate filters) since early 2019 in Canada. We believe in providing economical maintenance for emission control systems by restoring DPF’s rather than replacing them.

You may be familiar with the term DPF filter cleaning - did you know there are alternative solutions to the traditional DPF filter cleaning? Stay with us to learn the difference between traditional cleaning and ultrasonic restoration.

Do any of these points jump out at you?

These points below have been brought up by our customers time and time, maybe these ring a bell and you can relate to these too:

Supply issues for new filters?

  • Some companies in the industry have had a long time policy stating that DPF filter cleaning is not permitted for their fleet of vehicles. This is not uncommon.
  • More recently, some companies have updated their policies to endorse diesel particulate filter cleaning. Why?
  • No need for new filters
  • Get your existing filter restored and use it again
  • Quick turnaround

Losing money on filter cores?

Core charges on diesel particulate filters can be complicated to keep track of. Not only that, if a filter gets misplaced or lost, that’s a core refund down the drain!

When choosing to restore your filters instead of replacing them, there is no core charge for this. The filter you send in for cleaning is the filter you get back, no core charge. How does filter restoration work? (link this to What is the process, how does it work & what should we expect?)

Equipment failing or breaking down during the cold season?

Numerous companies with large fleets, like yours, have added diesel particulate filter cleaning to their annual preventive maintenance programs.

Maintaining DPF’s, DOC’s, SCR’s and EGR’s is a huge advantage to keep equipment operational during the busy season.

  • No headaches
  • No downtime
  • Peace of mind

#1 - A dealership near our Ottawa location had a SCR fail, instead of putting on a new one – they arranged for a cleaning at Lynx Emissions and saved their client thousands of dollars!

NEW SCR = $7,000 vs CLEANED SCR = $400

#2 -  A company near our Winnipeg location has their own cleaning equipment, they couldn’t clean one of their filters so sent it to Lynx Emissions for a Gold Service Restoration.

NEW DPF = approx. $4,000 vs RESTORED DPF = $479

Questions that might be on your mind:

What confirmation or quality control is there around Lynx Emissions process?

Every filter that comes into our facilities starts with a 3-point initial check where we document the health of the filter and look for any damage. Once the filter has passed the initial test, it will go through your chosen cleaning process (Bronze, Silver or Gold). After the cleaning, the filter will then go through the same 3-point series of tests to provide you with before and after results of your filter.

Every filter is returned back to along with a report, showing the filter condition before cleaning and after cleaning which gives you a visual documentation to keep on file for reference in future and assures you of the quality of service your filter has experienced.

Are replacement filters available for purchase?

Yes, certainly. Contact our team and provide them with the make, model and VIN number of your vehicle. This will allow us to provide you with a quote and lead time on the replacement filter you require.

Does Lynx Emissions remove filters from vehicles or equipment?

We do not offer filter removal service, the best solution is for your mechanics to remove the filters. Once they do this, we will arrange the pickup and the delivery of your filters.

Benefits you will see:

Testimonials for Lynx Emissions.

When we asked our customers to describe Lynx Emissions in one word:

The most important value at Lynx Emissions is integrity. To quote our customers, they say “the reason we come to you is because we can trust you because of your integrity. You’re open, you’re honest and you’re transparent”.

We feel our customers appreciate that about us at Lynx Emissions, the fact that we won’t sell you something that’s not right and we don’t pass filters that are a failure.

What is the process, how does it work & what should we expect?

The process is easy, it starts with a phone call to book a pick up.

  1. Call in and book your filter for pick up
  2. Our driver will pick up your filter and our 24 hour service begins
  3. Our technician will do a three point inspection of your filter
  4. Your filter is then put through the cleaning process of your choice
  5. Once your filter restoration is complete, our technician will repeat the three point inspection of your filters health so you can see the before and after comparison
  6. A comprehensive cleaning report with before and after photos and test readings is completed.
  7. Your filter and filter cleaning report is returned back to your location 24 hours after we have picked up.

Need replacement parts? No problem, we offer replacement clamps, gaskets, bungs, NOx sensors, DPF’s, One Boxes, injectors and fuel pumps.

What if my filter fails the 3 point inspection?

If your filter has failed the inspection, you will be contacted and notified your filter has failed. Our team will provide you with an explanation of why the filter has failed and along with a proposed solution for a replacement filter.

If we can’t clean, you don’t pay!

It’s as simple as that! Here’s how it works:

  • We perform a 3 point inspection
  • Perform air flow and filter damage tests
  • If the filter has failed, we provide you with the reason it has failed
  • There is no charge to you for this service

How does this compare to what we are doing right now?

Did you know there is an alternative to the blast & bake cleaning method? Often our customers will comment “we didn’t know there was another option out there”.

Check out the difference between the traditional DPF cleaning process (blast and bake) vs. ultrasonic DPF restoration process.

Traditional DPF Cleaning is a two step process which involves both the Air Knife and Advanced Regen.

Ultrasonic Restoration is a superior four step process providing you a guaranteed service (if we can’t restore your filter, you don’t pay!). The Ultrasonic Gold Service includes Air Knife, Advanced Regen, Ultrasonic and Solution Flush along with a 12 month warranty and as mentioned above, a guarantee.
